About Earth Rugs

• Earth Rugs are made of natural jute fibers. Jute is both environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
• Jute is a reed plant, much like bamboo.  The jute plant is opened up and the soft inner fibers are used to create soft, durable yarns that are woven into these beautiful rugs. Jute rugs are naturally water repellant and are not damaged by exposure to water. Jute is also flame retardant, so these rugs are perfect for use near a fireplace or heater.
• Jute is a very durable fiber and if taken care of, these rugs will last a lifetime. Proper care includes spot cleaning or professionally dry cleaning as needed and vacuuming as needed. 
• Earth Rugs are safe.  Jute is a natural fiber that is safe to use in homes with young children and pets.  Because of the amazing properties of jute fibers, these rugs are not chemically treated for fire retardancy or moth proofing as needed on wool and synthetic rugs
